Bill Reichert Scores A Top Alcohol Win At Lucas Oil Nationals!

Bill Reichert Wins!
NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Brandon Lewis could have had it all at the Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, Minnesota. He was number one qualifier at 5.29 @ 278. He was consistently in the 5.20's every round and appeared to be headed for the championship. Owosso's Bill Reichert had other ideas.

Bill, who was nearly two tenths of a second behind in qualifying with a 5.45 @ 258, managed to pare about four hundredths off his elapsed time every round to level the playing field between his A/FD and that of Lewis, who ended up being his third round opponent.

This was Reichert's 19th start here. He won this event in 1995 and in 2006. After running a commendable 5.33 @ 268 to down Lewis, who slowed to a 10.29 after losing traction, the stage was set for another shot at a championship for Reichert.

Dan Kracht was mirroring Reichert's march through the ranks, running consistently in the 5.30's until the final round when his car broke, giving Bill Reichert the win and the championship with a fine 5.335 @ 268.49.
